Hatchet 3 (2013) is the third film of horror of the Hatchet Series. It follows Victor Crowley's murderous rampage across Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley and Brian Quinn is Deputy Winslow. Rileah Vanderbilt plays Misty.



The film's special effects are the film's greatest strength. Hatchet 3 uses a lot less CG effects than other horror films. This allows for some truly terrifying moments to be recorded in the movie.

The cast delivers a strong performance with Kane Hodder being the most terrifying villain. The dialogue is sufficiently campy and tongue-in-cheek for it to feel like a true '80s slasher movie at times. There are also some hilarious moments that stand out in all the gut-wrenching scenes.

Unfortunately, due to the small budget (1 million dollars), many of the locations are duplicates of earlier films. The boat house in Hatchet 2 was used only once, and the rest of the footage feels like it's been reused from earlier films. Hatchet or Hatchet II may find it familiar, and this could result in the movie feeling too familiar.
